Art Grider: Calendar

What a GREAT crowd!!! I think we almost overwhelmed the Farm 255 staff. Sundays are normally slow at the FARM, but last night the staff was hopping. Thank you for coming out to hear us play. We (Zamar Athens) had a GREAT time!! Please stay in touch so you will know when our next gig is scheduled.

We had a great time last night!! We called the band, "Root Groove", though the announcement on the Farm255 website was, "Art Grider & Friends." Terry Ross graced us with a few Christmas songs (he sounds like Mel Torme). We played other CHristmas songs arrange by our keyboardist Tracy Reynolds. His son, Justin Reynolds, added his own voice, along with some nice guitar work, on a cover of a John Mayer tune, "Gravity." A nice crowd gathered as the night progressed, in spite of the absence of UGA students. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

We had a GREAT time last night!!!! Thanks to all of you that came to hear us. We REALLY enjoyed playing for you! i personally want to thank the Nutrition undergrads and grads, and Family and Consumer Sciences faculty for coming. It's always a pleasure to interact with colleagues and students outside of the work environment.

Another GREAT night at the Tavern!!! I hope you were there. If not, stop by in two weeks - Thurs., Sept. 6th, 7pm to 10pm. MUSICIAN ALERT - TRUMPET AND TROMBONE PLAYERS ARE NEEDED. JUST SHOW UP READY TO PLAY!!!

WHAT A NIGHT!!! A 4-alarm blaze was reported at 318 E. Washington St. Thurs night. When the firemen arrived, the place was SMOKIN', as the musicians were laying down riffs that were literally ON FIRE!

Thanks to all of you that were on the scene. Go and tell your friends that, "JAZZ LIVES in Athens!" And plan to be back with friends and family in two weeks (August 9th @ 7pm).

What a GREAT time!!! The cafe was packed and everyone had a good time! Several people commented on how tight the sound was, and how COOL the Akai EWI 4000s wind controller sounded. I certainly had fun playing it - it really came in handy when we played CHAMELEON and ISN'T SHE LOVELY.
